1749 - Hardenburgh Patent divided

1760 - Joseph Ross settles at Callicoon flats -- Daniel Young settles at Big Island

1764 - Daniel Skinner floats first log raft

1779 - Colonel Brant and Indians stop at Callicoon after the Battle of Minisink

1790 - Charles Layton settles at what is now Hortonville

1794 - Sackett Road completed to Cochecton

1812 - Woodruff settles at Pikes Pond (Kenoza Lake)

1835 - Ground broken for Erie railroad within Delaware

1848 - First Erie train through Delaware

1850 - Charles Horton opens tannery at Hortonville

1869 - Town of Cochecton divided to create new Town of Delaware

1888 - Febuary 28 Fire destroys parts of Main Street - - Great Blizzard March 12

1899 - Bridge opened across the Delaware at Callicoon

1901 - St. Joseph's Seminary Founded

1908 - Dr. Cook of Hortonville attains North Pole

1939 - Route 97 opens

1946 - Delaware Youth Center is formed
